This privacy statement covers the site www.YoungsvilleFire.org. Because we want to demonstrate our commitment to our users’ privacy, we willingly disclose the following information practices and policies.

Information Collection and Use

Information Collection

The Youngsville Fire Department is the sole owner of any information collected on www.YoungsvilleFire.org. Youngsville Fire Department may collect information from our users at two places on the Web site.

Survey Form

We request information from the user on our Survey page. A user is asked to provide contact information (such as name, email, phone and asked for their feedback regarding any fire, medical or other service provided by the Youngsville Fire Department.

Contact Page

We request information from the user on our Contact page. A user is asked to provide contact information (such as name, email, phone (optional) and whether they are interested in fire department membership, cadet membership, or renting the banquet facilities.

Log Files

Like many standard web site servers we may use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.

 

Communications from the Site / Special Events and Updates

Established users may occasionally receive information on special events, fundraising efforts, and fire department news. Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we will present an option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.

Sharing

Legal Disclaimer

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law when we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our web site.

Organizational Transitions

In the event that the Youngsville Fire Department goes through an organizational transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another fire department, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.

Choice/Opt-out

Users are usually given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. Users who no longer wish to receive communications may opt-out of receiving them by replying "unsubscribe" in the subject line in an email sent to info@youngsvillefire.org.

This web site may contain link to other sites. Please be aware that the Youngsville Fire Department is not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this web site.

 

Security

Online Security

Information requested on our web site on the Contact page and Survey page is transmitted to us via unsecured email. Be aware that these email transmissions are not encrypted for security. For that reason, users should never offer unsolicited financial information (such as a credit card number) in any text field in our contact form or survey form on our web site.

We do not request information directly from the user on the Donate page, however, if a user makes a donation to the Youngsville Fire Department or requests a memorial listing, the user will be directed to share their credit card information through PayPal, which uses a secure (SSL) connection. Users should always look for the "https" in the address line of any page that asks for financial information (the 's' signifies a secure page). The Youngsville Fire Department does not have access to users' credit card numbers when donations and memorials are made through this secure payment portal. If users have any questions about the security of our web site, they can make inquiries through our Contact form.

Offline Security

We take every precaution possible to protect our users’ information offline. Access to our users’ information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, an informational or fundraising e-mailing) are granted access to personally identifiable information.

Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users’ personally identifiable information. This can usually be done by contacting us via our contact form. Or, contact us by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify users via email and by posting a notice on our web site for 30 days.
