The Youngsville Fire Department is the sole owner of any information collected on www.YoungsvilleFire.org. Youngsville Fire Department may collect information from our users at several places on the Web site.
Survey Form
We request information from the user on our Survey page. A user is asked to provide contact information (such as name, email, phone and asked for their feedback regarding any fire, medical or other service provided by the Youngsville Fire Department. We request this information to help us evaluate our level of service to the community, and to address any deficiencies.
Contact Page
We request information from the user on our Contact page. A user is asked to provide contact information (such as name, email, phone (optional) and what the reason is for their inquiry.
Donate Page
We request information from the user on our Donate page. A user may choose to donate to the Youngsville Fire Department with a simple donation, or a donation in Memory of someone, or a donation in Honor of someone. We collect contact information from the donor (name, address, email, phone) and the name of the person(s) to be memorialized or honored. No personal financial information is collected or stored by the YFD. Once the donation form is filled out and submitted to YFD, the visitor is forwarded to PayPal.com to complete the transaction. PayPal is a web-based payment portal widely recognized as a safe, secure, encrypted platform for financial transactions. The YFD does not have access to the credit card information provided to PayPal.com
Log Files
Like many standard web site servers we may use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Communications from the Site / Special Events and Updates
Established users may occasionally receive information on special events, fundraising efforts, and fire department news. Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we will present an option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.
Sharing
Legal Disclaimer
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law when we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our web site.
Organizational Transitions
In the event that the Youngsville Fire Department goes through an organizational transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another fire department, or selling a portion of its assets, users’ personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred.
Choice/Opt-out
Users are usually given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. Information requested on our web site on the Contact page, Survey page, and Donate form is transmitted to us via unsecured email. Be aware that these email transmissions are not encrypted for security. For that reason, users should never offer unsolicited financial information (such as a credit card number) in any text field in any form on our web site.
Offline Security
We take every precaution possible to protect our users’ information offline. Access to our users’ information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, the treasurer) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information
If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users’ personally identifiable information. This can usually be done by contacting us via our contact form. Or, contact us by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
